Happy New Year Everyone in San Mateo County, From Carmen Miranda

I love the place where I live and work and wouldn’t change that anytime soon. My devotion to what I do as a real estate professional has been unwavering. That’s been the easy part, since I love what I do! As for the market, it’s seen some interesting twists and turns and made my job more interesting. At the same time, it’s shown positive trends that seem to be playing out elsewhere in the nation. That’s a great factor playing out in 2016 and leading into 2017. Folks, it’s going to be an exciting new year in real estate prospects! With that in mind, I have some advice for clients.

While interest rates remained at an all time low in 2016, they’re slated to rise. As a result, the best time to buy a home fits in the first few months of the new year. That will be your best window for dodging higher interest rates, as they make their way into 2017.

Home sellers have great incentives to sell in the market where inventory is generally low, as it is now. Since inventory shortfall makes for higher median home prices, early 2017 is an ideal time to sell. That’s a great way to start your new year off.

Positive indicators in all four, major housing sectors of the nation lead to an upbeat outlook for 2017. Positive indicators in the stock market and forecasts for the economy lead to more of the same.

Let’s all make it the best new year yet for everyone. Happy New Year Everyone in San Mateo County, from Carmen Miranda!
